When GM Canada faced financial pressure in 2009, it cut benefits to retirees who’d been salaried workers. But an Ontario court ruled on July 16, 2016 that the automaker couldn’t do this. Sotos lawyer Louis Sokolov argued the class action case in court on behalf of the retirees and was quoted in The Globe and Mail story on the decision.
